The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage prepares you to work professionally as a sports massage therapist, focusing on injury prevention and management. This advanced qualification builds on Level 3 skills and introduces a broader range of techniques, including connective tissue work, soft tissue release, corrective frictions, trigger point therapy, and muscle energy techniques to treat recent non-acute injuries and pre-existing conditions.
You will develop advanced subjective and objective assessment skills, clinical reasoning, and proficiency in special and functional muscle tests. The course equips you to prescribe appropriate treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair at each stage of injury recovery. In addition, you’ll deepen your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology through hands-on application of objective testing, giving you the competence and confidence required to provide effective sports massage care in a clinical or performance setting.
